Know exactly what is fitted to every vehicle — and how much stock you have left.
Fleet accessories — dash cams, tracking devices, tool kits, beacons, load restraints, and safety equipment — are tracked as serialised inventory items in Odoo. Each accessory is assigned a unique serial number and linked to the vehicle it is currently fitted to. Every fitment and removal is recorded with the date, technician, odometer, and item condition.
The Workshop and Inventory Manager gains a live view of where every accessory is at any given time — on which vehicle, in which warehouse location, or in for repair. Minimum stock levels are configured per accessory type, and automated alerts are sent to the Procurement Officer when stock falls below threshold, with an automatic purchase order suggestion generated.

How It Works in Odoo 19
Register Accessory
Each accessory is registered in Odoo Inventory with a serial number, brand, model, and initial condition assessment. It enters a designated fleet accessories warehouse location as a new serialised stock item.
Record Fitment
When an accessory is fitted to a vehicle, a stock movement is created from the warehouse to the vehicle's virtual inventory location. The fitment record captures the technician, fitment date, and odometer reading at fitment.
Track Removals & Condition
When an accessory is removed, the reverse stock movement is logged with an updated condition assessment: Good, Requires Service, or Write-off. Full condition history is preserved for every serial number across all vehicles.
Low Stock Alerts
Reorder rules are configured per accessory type with minimum and maximum quantities. When stock falls below the minimum, an automated alert is sent to the Procurement Officer and a purchase order suggestion is generated in Odoo Purchase.
Built on Odoo 19 Inventory (stock.lot for serial tracking, stock.move for fitments, dedicated virtual locations per vehicle). Custom erc_fleet_accessories links stock.lot records to fleet.vehicle and records fitment events with odometer and condition data.
